5 swiffer hacks for cheapskates and treehuggers alike

1.  Punch a hole in the Swiffer WetJet tank (I just used scissors) and refill with diluted PineSol or other cleaner (7 parts water to 1 part cleaner). Seal with duct tape. Store upright just in case it leaks a bit. 

2.  Replace the disposable WetJet pad with a reusable, washable fabric pad. This one is made by Rubbermaid and was purchased at Target. 

 3. Attach a rag or old cloth diaper to the Swiffer Sweeper to use on wood or laminate floors. I spray my Pergo with laminate cleaner and mop it up using this method. (My cloth diaper is labeled "floor" so no one wipes the baby's mouth with it).

4.  Use clothespins to attach a microfiber fabric dusting cloth to the Swiffer Sweeper to pick up dust, pet hair, and lint. 

5.  Take a section or two out of the Swiffer Sweeper handle so the small children in your life can help you clean the floor.
